Teacher Self-Care 101

One of the most mentally and physically demanding jobs in the world can be found in the classroom. Teachers around the nation are tested on a daily basis by their students, sometimes to dangerous degrees. While many teachers won’t have to worry about any altercations, they will still have to put in immense time and effort into their positions. For a majority of students, most subjects will not come naturally, meaning teachers will have to put in the extra effort of making sure subjects are taught in such a way that every student can learn them. What’s more, these teachers also have themselves to worry about. It’s not easy dedicating so much of your time to a classroom and feeling as though you don’t have enough time for yourself. This is why it’s so important to practice self-care methods in the moments you do find to yourself. Meditating, deep breathing, and nature walks are just a few activities that many teachers participate in to refresh and renew themselves after long days in the classroom. If these methods aren’t for you, take a moment to review the resource accompanying this post to learn more about some methods that might work better for you in your self-care journey.
